Expansion control of the liquid refrigerant entering the evaporator is an essential part of refrigerators, heat pumps and air conditioners
Legacy designs use a calibrated tube, a mechanical expansion valve, a solenoid valve or a variable valve controlled by servo motor or more common, a stepper motor
The stepper motor provides precision control with good energy efficiency so coming up with something better was a challenge however we have done just that
Calculations indicate the revolutionary approach of our design will lead to increase in overall system efficiency of greater than 3%
These are not drop in replacements as the control circuitry is very different to legacy and so they are aimed at new designs
